Renee Austin

Article From Musicconnection.com

Three-time Minnesota Music Award winner Renee Austin took her career by the horns, clocking in between 40 to 60 hours a week promoting herself offstage. Albert Cummings

From Albert Cumming's Heart, (06/18/03)
Michael Flynn is a contributing editor of BluesWax

Albert Cummings clearly studied in the Stevie Ray Vaughan School of Blues Guitar and graduated magna cum laude with a double minor in vocals and kicking ass. Having grown up as a Bluegrass banjo player, Cummings saw Vaughan perform and has never turned back. A couple of years ago Cummings hooked up with Double Trouble's Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon, who produce and play on this album. The lineup is completed by Reese Wynans, on keyboards and Johnny Moeller on second guitar. Riley Osborne sits in on keys for the final track.

In addition, the famous twosome make up the rhythm section. Chris says more...

First published: Monday, March 17, 2003

Williamstown guitarslinger Albert Cummings wowed the crowd with a too-short set that won him a whole mess of new fans. Playing in a spare power trio format, Cummings cracked things open with "Regular Man" and stretched out with everything from love ballads ("Together as One") to deep-groovin' boogie-woogie ("I've Got Feelings, Too"). Best of the batch was the stinging "Lonely Bed" as Cummings uncorked a truly torrential guitar solo. Somebody should sign this guy right now because he's definitely ready for the national spotlight.
