Autonomy to headline at The Fine Line Music Cafe

For Immediate Release 2004

Autonomy headlines at the Fine Line. Jendeen brings new perspective as guest drummer Monday August 16th, 2004 Autonomy welcomes Jendeen Forberg [All the Pretty Horses, The Wolverines] as guest drummer for a headlining slot at The Fine Line Music Cafe in downtown Minneapolis. She brings so much to the material exclaims singer/bassist Ether, its really amazing! Her experience shows in everything she does, and the mutual respect we have just made it click right away.

This show is Autonomys first at The Fine Line, and their first concert performance without founding member and drummer Rockula who left the group in June over creative differences.

For the Minneapolis drummer known to most simply as Jendeen, Autonomy has become part of her already busy performance schedule. She has been a respected fixture in the local jazz scene as part of The Wolverines which gigs regularly. Jendeen has also turned heads for years as the jaw-dropping drummer for glam rockers All the Pretty Horses, where Autonomy first witnessed her talent. Guitarist Billy Graczyk adds, We always watched her in awe with All the Pretty Horses just the way she manipulates the energy of the band from behind the drums is incredible.

It is the perfect prescription for a band struggling to reinvent itself in the wake of losing their drummer. Ether beams, The music feels so fresh with her perspective added to the mix. She is approaching it her own way, rather than trying to imitate Rockula. We just feel unstoppable now.

Autonomy performs at The Fine Line Music Cafe on Monday August 16th. Doors open at 7pm, Cover is $5 at the door. Free tickets are available to download and print at www.autonomyrocks.com

The lineup: Autonomy headlines (midnight), Esuna, Stale Toast, Premium, and Sacred Ground Beef.

Julianna Raye

Julianna Raye
Restless Night 2001
CD Review by Blondie

Mellow, mysterious, soft, and simple encapsulate Julianna Rayes Restless Night release in 2001. The lounge like slow deliveries of her poignant songs resonate long after the Restless Night has ended. The lengthy songs add to the state of restless abandon as if consumed by a dream state. Juliannas intrigue with the complexities of nature in the dark hours of the night are evident in her titles Lost Little Orbits, Dark Night of the Soul, Dark Sky Traveler and The Man that Time Forgot. She yearns for control in The Man That Time Forgot I wish I could take the world apart/Id build it again, state of the art/Id hold the nature of man in the palm of my hand/youd be here now, youre not, I cant forget the man that time forgot...
